Who Can Participate?

The basic eligibility requirements for Truscott Research studies, and why they mirror real jury service.

Updated September 28, 2026 1 min read

Because our studies use mock juries for real, active court cases, participants need to meet the same basic requirements as an actual juror.

The basics

  • You must be a U.S. citizen.
  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You’ll need a valid state ID or driver’s license showing the ZIP code on file in your profile.

Backgrounds that may be excluded

People who work in law enforcement, as attorneys or paralegals, or in insurance claims — or who have a personal connection to a similar type of case — are often excluded. The list can vary from case to case.

Bringing friends

Friends are welcome to join too, as long as they aren’t immediate family and don’t live at your address. Everyone registers separately with their own information.
